LOCATION: 100% on site in Bartow, FL
JOB TITLE: Network and Systems Support Tech
DURATION: ASAP – June 2026 with potential renewal, Monday–Friday
PAY: $30-$33/hr
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a Network or Systems Support role within an enterprise environment
- Proven experience configuring and troubleshooting VLANs, Layer 2/3 switching, and Wireless Access Points
- At least 1 year of experience managing Virtual Machines (VMs) within Microsoft Hyper-V or a similar hypervisor
- Direct experience with "Rack and Stack" – installing physical servers, switches, and UPS systems, including basic knowledge of structured cabling (Cat6, Fiber) and labeling standards
- Experience managing Active Directory objects, including creating Security Groups and managing NTFS/Share permissions using the principle of Least Privilege
- Familiarity with Windows Server 2019/2022 and basic command-line navigation
- Demonstrated ability to use tools like Ping, Traceroute, and Nslookup to isolate connectivity issues between the desktop and the data center
- Experience creating or maintaining technical documentation, such as network diagrams (Visio/Lucidchart) or knowledge base articles
- Experience identifying hardware failures (e.g., RAID battery failures, bad SFP modules, or failed power supplies)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field
Job Description
- Provide on-site network and systems support for a public sector organization, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents related to switches, wireless access points, firewalls, servers, and related infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and maintain physical network and server hardware (“rack and stack”), including switches, servers, UPS devices, and structured cabling in accordance with enterprise standards.
- Administer and support virtual environments (Hyper-V/HCI), Active Directory objects, file/Share permissions, and network-connected services, ensuring performance, availability, and adherence to least-privilege and security best practices.
